and approved 5 Yeas 2 Absent (Goettel, Edelson). Commissioner Irene
Fernando moved, seconded by Commissioner Marion Green to approve the
2026 Legislative Platform Priority, as amended and approved - 5 Yeas 2
Absent (Goettel, Edelson).
Liz Young, Intergovernmental Relations Director, and her team provided an
overview of the 2026 Legislative Platform. Commissioner Irene Fernando
moved, seconded by Commissioner Angela Conley to bring the 2026
Legislative Platform forward. No Commissioner Amendments were brought
forward for the following sections: Bonding, Climate and environment,
General government, Hennepin Healthcare System, Health and human
services, Housing, Law, safety and justice, Workforce development, and
Nonprofit requests.
There was discussion on the Taxes section, Commissioner Marion Greene
brought forward an amendment that, upon further discussion, it was
decided the department of Office, Budget and Finance would bring back
language next week at the Board meeting.
There was discussion on the Transportation section, and after further
deliberation, it was decided that the Intergovernmental Relations team
would bring back feedback next week at the Board meeting regarding the
questions that Commissioners had.
Commissioner Marion Greene moved, seconded by Commissioner Irene
Fernando, to progress the Resolution to the November 18 Board meeting.
