BE IT RESOLVED, that an award from the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board for the provision of humanitarian services to individuals and families arriving from the southern border, during the period January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023, in the receivable amount of $1,287,196 be approved; that the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign any necessary documentation on behalf of the county; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse the funds as directed; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that sponsorship and acceptance of an award by the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners does not imply a continuing funding commitment by Hennepin County when award funds are no longer available.

Background:
The National Board for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) awarded EFSP-Humanitarian (EFSP-H) relief funds to Hennepin County to provide humanitarian services to individuals and families arriving from the southern border. EFSP-H funds have been awarded to provide eligible services including food, shelter, transportation, and other wrap-around services according to program guidance. These funds are eligible through December 31, 2023. All eligible expenses must be made between the period of January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023.

With this award, Hennepin County will provide eligible services to individuals and families arriving from the southern border.
