Background:
Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and Responsive Neurostimulation (RNS) are advanced neuromodulation therapies increasingly used in the treatment of refractory neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia, and epilepsy. Including DBS and RNS supports patient safety, regulatory compliance, and alignment with evolving standards of neurologic care.
Current Request: Authorization sought to approve the addition of the Deep Brain Stimulation and Responsive Neurostimulation System cluster to the Neurology privilege form.
