BE IT RESOLVED, that Agreement PR00005670 with Tasks Unlimited Building Services, a not-for-profit organization duly organized under the laws of the State of Minnesota, to provide janitorial services for the 625 Building and Family Justice Center for the period of November 1, 2023 through October 31, 2026, in an amount not to exceed $2,250,000.00 be approved; that the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the agreement on behalf of the County; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse funds as directed; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Purchasing Manager may:
* Extend the Agreement up to an additional two-year period (two (2) - one (1) year extension options if mutually agreed upon); and allow for a month-to-month holdover, if necessary, when rebidding.
* Increase the Agreement amount, as necessary;
* Increase / decrease the scope of services, as necessary;
* Add / or remove facilities, as necessary.

Background:
Under the provisions of Minnesota Statute 383B.145, subdivision 5, the County Board may set aside an amount for awarding contracts to businesses and social service organizations which have a majority of employees who would be eligible for public assistance or who would require rehabilitative services in the absence of their employment. The statute further permits the board to use a negotiated price or a bid contract procedure in the awarding of a procurement contract under the set-aside program.
Tasks Unlimited Building Services ("Tasks Unlimited") is a nonprofit that promotes self-sufficiency through vocational training and job placement for adults with serious and persistent mental illness.
