BE IT RESOLVED, that Agreement HS00001598 with CornerHouse Interagency Child Abuse Evaluation Center (CornerHouse) for services to provide forensic interview services for the period January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2026 in the amount of $500,000 per year be approved; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Administrator be authorized to negotiate agreements with CornerHouse for forensic interview services from January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2026, in a total not to exceed amount of $500,000 per year; that following review in Human Services Behavioral Health, the Chair of the board be authorized to sign the agreements; and the Controller be authorized to disburse funds as directed.

Background:
CornerHouse Interagency Child Abuse Evaluation Center, a Minnesota non-profit corporation, will conduct interviews of children, youth, their families or adults who are the alleged victims of sexual abuse. A contract with CornerHouse will provide funding in the amount of $500,000 per year for services which ensures that the needs of the individual are given first priority during the forensic interview process. The forensic interview is trauma-informed, person-centered, and is aligned with the cognitive, behavioral, and social abilities of each individual. The Cornerhouse Forensic interviewers will use the CornerHouse Forensic Interview Protocol(tm), an interviewing protocol that CornerHouse developed and that is now widely used across the country and the globe.
