WHEREAS:

WHEREAS, National Pretrial, Probation and Parole Supervision Week is observed annually during the third week in July; and
WHEREAS community corrections is an essential part of the criminal justice system nationally and in Hennepin County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR) is the largest county corrections agency in the state; and
WHEREAS, DOCCR’s dedicated staff and volunteers work to enhance community safety promote community restoration and reduce the risk of re-offense by delivering correctional supervision services to more than 21,000 juvenile and adult probation and parole clients at any given time; and
WHEREAS, county probation and parole agents strive to act as guides, helping clients navigate complicated systems and connecting them to supportive resources that improve life outcomes, reduce disparities and positively impact community safety.
Resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners hereby declares July 20-26, 2025, as Pretrial, Probation and Parole Supervision Week, with special gratitude to the staff and their positive impacts on their clients and, the greater Hennepin County community.
