BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Administrator be authorized to negotiate Agreement PW 12-40-25 with the Minnesota Department of Transportation and Deco Cultural Services LLC to perform an architectural history survey of County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 152 (Cedar Avenue) from 24th Street to CSAH 3 (Lake Street) in Minneapolis, county project (CP) 2220200, at an estimated county cost of $6,000; that upon review and approval by the County Attorney's Office, the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the agreement on behalf of the county; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse the funds as directed.

Background:
Hennepin County, in coordination with the City of Minneapolis, is leading a roadway reconstruction project, which will include a complete and green streets design, along Cedar Avenue between 24th Street and Lake Street.
The project is partially funded with federal funds. The Federal Highway Administration requires that projects using federal funds comply with the National Historic Preservation Act and complete an architectural history survey. MnDOT will manage this survey, which will be completed by Deco Cultural Services.
Agreement PW 12-40-25 will authorize MnDOT and Deco Cultural Services LLC to perform the architectural history survey of the project corridor. MnDOT will pay 80% percent of the consultant cost and Hennepin County will pay 20%. The county's estimated cost is $6,000 and adequate funding is available in the project budget. The survey is anticipated to begin in 2025.
