Background:

Genesys Works Twin Cities is a non-profit organization that works to provide pathways to career success for high school students in underserved communities through skills training, meaningful work experience, and impactful relationships in the field of Information Technology.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office (HCAO) has contracted with Genesys Works Twin Cities for the last 14 years to hire one intern per year to work with Law Safety Justice Information Technology (LSJ IT) staff assigned to support HCAO. Students are supervised and mentored during their time at HCAO and provide computer technical support such as handling help desk calls, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and special projects as assigned. Through the internship experience, interns gain valuable on-the-job experience to encourage and support their future career vocation as well as long-term economic self-sufficiency.
