BE IT RESOLVED, that a contract be awarded to Ti-Zack Concrete, Inc. for $1,178,907 to construct accessible pedestrian ramps and pedestrian signal improvements at various locations within the county (phase two), county project (CP) 2183300; that the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the contract on behalf of the county; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse funds as directed.

Background:
As part of the Hennepin County Americans with Disabilities Act transition plan, the county is upgrading pedestrian ramps and installing accessible pedestrian signals at locations across the county in conjunction with pavement preservation work. The work will be constructed in phases. Phase two will upgrade pedestrian ramps at 29 intersections along the following corridors:
* County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 4 (Spring Road) from CSAH 61 (Flying Cloud Drive) to Hilltop Road in Eden Prairie
* CSAH 33 (Park Avenue) from Interstate (I)-94/I-35W to Washington Avenue in Minneapolis
* CSAH 35 (Portland Avenue) from Washington Avenue to I-94/I-35W in Minneapolis
* CSAH 42 (42nd Street) from CSAH 152 (Cedar Avenue) to CSAH 48 (Minnehaha Avenue) in Minneapolis
* CSAH 46 (46th Street) from Trunk Highway 55 (Hiawatha Avenue) to CSAH 48 (Minnehaha Avenue) in Minneapolis
* CSAH 116 (Territorial Road) from CSAH 144 (141st Avenue) to Valley View Terrace in Rogers
* CSAH 144 (141st Avenue) from I-94 to Marie Avenue in Rogers
Phase two will also include installation or upgrade of accessible pedestrian signals at the following three signalized intersections in Minneapolis:
* CSAH 33 (Park Avenue) and South Sixth Street
* CSAH 35 (Portland Avenue) and E 16th Street
* CSAH 42 (E 42nd Street) and S 28th Avenue
