BE IT RESOLVED, that Amendment 1 to Agreement PR00003438 with Tree Trust for maintenance of Hennepin County Regional Railroad Authority property, extending the term from June 30, 2025 to December 31, 2026, increasing the not to exceed by $1,552,500 to $5,152,500, be approved; that the Chair be authorized to sign the agreement on behalf of the authority; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse funds as directed

Background:
The Hennepin County Regional Railroad Authority (HCRRA) owns 40 miles of abandoned rail corridors as well as corridor-supporting parcels that are preserved for ongoing and future transportation purposes. Park agencies operate recreational trails on all the corridors, and HCRRA is responsible for maintenance outside the trail area. That maintenance typically includes tree care, mowing, vegetation management, snow removal, graffiti and trash removal, removal of unpermitted materials, sign and fence installation, erosion control, and minor construction. Special projects are also performed to preserve HCRRA's property as needed.
In 2021, HCRRA solicited a contract for these maintenance services. The solicitation required that the contract include prevailing wage rates and an employment readiness training program. Tree Trust, was the only company to submit a bid and HCRRA entered into Agreement PR00003438 with Tree Trust maintenance services (Resolution 21-HCRRA- 0026). This amendment supports ongoing maintenance needs.
Current Request: This request is to approve Amendment 1 to Agreement PR00003438 with Tree Trust, extending the term to December 31, 2026 and increasing the not to exceed amount to $5,152,500.?
