WHEREAS, Michael Rossman began his career with Hennepin County in 1993 as an Office Specialist III in the Community Corrections Adult Investigation division; and
WHEREAS, for the next several years Mr. Rossman worked in several county departments, including Hennepin County Medical Center, holding various positions of increasing responsibility before landing in the Medical Examiner’s Office in 2004; and
WHEREAS, while with the Medical Examiner’s Office, Michael played an integral role in the merger with the Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office; and
WHEREAS, throughout his career in Hennepin County Mr. Rossman has been recognized with awards for Champion of Change and the Administrator’s Award; and
WHEREAS, in 2015, Mr. Rossman was appointed Chief Human Resources Officer, leading the County through the implementation of industry best practices and advancing strategies to position it as a regional and national employer of choice; and
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Department was at the forefront of the County’s response to the pandemic, supporting the County’s business continuity and dedicating an enormous amount of time researching, planning and implementing Future Ready Hennepin both critical to attracting and retaining a talented, diverse workforce of the future; and
WHEREAS, Michael’s passion for the work of Human Resources and the support of our employees was ever present. His enthusiasm and honesty during difficult times will be missed; therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Hennepin County Board of Commissioner acknowledges Michael Rossman’s many accomplishments, thanks him for his committed service to the county, and wishes him a long and healthy retirement.
