BE IT RESOLVED, that revenues for county project (CP) 2999968 be adjusted to add $694,761 in cost participation from the City of Minneapolis to be received through Agreement PW 25-20-21 for the improvements on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 40 (Glenwood Avenue) from Aldrich Avenue to 10th Street, increasing the total project budget by the same amount from $7,617,097 to $8,311,858; and that the Controller be authorized to accept and disburse funds as directed.

Background:
History: The County is leading a project to reconstruct Glenwood Avenue from Aldrich Avenue to 10th Street this year. On August 2, 2022, the county board authorized execution of Agreement PW 25-20-21 with Minneapolis for cost participation and maintenance responsibilities for improvements on Glenwood Avenue, CP 2999968 (Resolution 22-0298). Project bids came in high due to additional project scope from the city. Therefore, the city’s cost participation increased by $694,761. The current agreement (PW 25-20-21) will enable the county to receive this additional city revenue.
Current Request: This request seeks authorization to amend the budget for CP 2999968 to receive additional cost participation from Minneapolis in the amount of $694,761, increasing the total budget to $8,311,858.
Impacts/Outcomes: This action supports the county’s Mobility 2040 goals, climate action and disparity reduction efforts by improving accessibility, mobility, and safety for multimodal transportation. The improvements will also provide connection to light rail.
