Support for People Serving People’s fiscal request

WHEREAS, People Serving People is the largest and most comprehensive emergency shelter for families experiencing homelessness in Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, People Serving People is currently seeking capital investment funding from the Minnesota Legislature for renovation of a homeless shelter in the city of Minneapolis; and
WHEREAS, requested state funds would be used to design, construct, furnish, and equip improvements for needed renovations to the organization's homeless family shelter; and
WHEREAS, the project aligns well with Hennepin County’s work and mission.
Resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners supports People Serving People’s Minnesota Legislative funding request and authorizes the County Board Chair to send a letter of support to the State Legislature.
