BE IT RESOLVED, that the revenues for county project (CP) 2167301 be adjusted to add $2,080,377 in cost participation from the City of Minneapolis and $1,016,932 in cost participation from the Metropolitan Council (Met Council); that the project budget for CP 2167301 be increased by $3,097,309 from $20,463,732 to $23,561,041 as part of the 2024 Capital Budget; and that the Controller be authorized to accept and disburse funds as directed.

Background:
Hennepin County; in collaboration with the city, Minnesota Department of Transportation, Met Council and University of Minnesota; is leading a multimodal improvement project along University Avenue (County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 36) and Fourth Street (CSAH 37) between Interstate 35W and Oak Street. This project, which is scheduled to begin construction in 2024, will complement Metro Transit's E Line Arterial Bus Rapid Transit (ABRT) project planned along these corridors.
The board authorized agreements PW 19-20-22 with the city and PW 31-67-23 with Met Council for cost participation and maintenance of improvements constructed as part of CP 2167301 (resolutions 220199 and 230186). Based on bids opened on December?5, 2023, the construction costs have increased resulting in the city's cost increasing by $2,080,377 and Met Council's cost increasing by $1,016,932. The county's increased share of the project will be funded by the project budget.
Current Request: This request seeks authorization to adjust the budget for CP 2167301 by adding $2,080,377 in city cost participation and $1,016,932 in Met Council cost participation, increasing the total budget by $3,097,309 as part of the 2024 Capital Budget.
