BE IT RESOLVED, that a contract be awarded to Zenith Tech, Inc. for $1,465,763 to replace the concrete overlay on six county owned bridges, county project (CP) 2183300; that the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the contract on behalf of the county; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse funds as directed.

Background:
County bridges are regularly evaluated to determine the level of investment needed to maximize the life of these assets. Based on this technical analysis, six bridges along County State Aid Highways (CSAHs) were identified for concrete overlay work at the following locations:
* County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 15 (Shoreline Drive) over Burlington Northern rail in Wayzata
* CSAH 19 (Shadywood Road) over Coffee Channel in Orono
* CSAH 34 (Normandale Boulevard) over Nine Mile Creek in Bloomington
* CSAH 125 (Bartlett Boulevard) over Lost Lake Channel in Mound
* CSAH 125 (Wilshire Boulevard) between Cooks Bay and Emerald Lake in Mound
* CSAH 125 (Wilshire Boulevard) between Spring Park Bay and Blake Lake in Mound
On May 9, 2023, three bids were received with the lowest responsive bid submitted by Zenith Tech, Inc. Project funding is available in CP 2183300 Safety and Asset Management, with expenses tracked in its associated subproject CP 2183339.
All work will be completed in 2023, except for Shadywood Road over Coffee Channel in Orono, which will be timed with a roadway project in 2024 to minimize construction impacts to the community.
