BE IT RESOLVED, that the award of Contract FC00000083 to Versacon Inc. for the Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation Adult Corrections Facility Men's Shower Remodel project (Subproject 1009536, Capital Project 1006380), in the amount of $1,650,000 be approved; that the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the contract on behalf of the county after the performance and payment bonds have been properly executed; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse funds as directed.

Background:
This project will align the Adult Corrections Facility men's shower facility with current Minnesota Department of Corrections standards and Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR) best practices for male residents showering in a central location. The shower area, which was constructed in 1996, needs to be updated, the function and programed space type redesigned, and the number of showers addressed. The showers will be updated to current building codes, Department of Corrections standards, and Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) guidelines.
Through a best value procurement process, a Request for Proposals was released on September 21, 2023. Five (5) proposals were received. Based on the results of interviews with the proposers' key staff, Versacon Inc., received the highest score, based on its cost, written submittals, and interview. Versacon Inc. represents the best value to the county and staff recommends that it be awarded this contract.
