BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Administrator be authorized to negotiate Amendment 7 to Agreement PRR00004865 with Lockridge Grindal Nauen P.L.L.P. Attorneys at Law for the provision of legal services, no change to contract dates, increasing the not to exceed amount by $500,000 for a new total not to exceed amount of $1,100,000; that following review and approval by the County Attorney's Office, the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the Amendment on behalf of the county; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse funds as directed.

Background:
On November 2, 2022, a complaint was filed in Hennepin County District Court, alleging several claims against Hennepin County and county officials, in Tamburino v. Hennepin County, Case No. 27-CV-22-16364. Lockridge Grindal Nauen P.L.L.P. had previously provided legal services to the County in a substantially related matter and was well situated to provide legal services to the County in the defense of this new lawsuit. Pursuant to the Administrator's delegated authority, Agreement PR00004865 was originally executed for the period of November 1, 2022 through December 31, 2023 in the not to exceed amount of $24,000.
* Amendment 1 increased the not to exceed amount by $76,000 for a new total not to exceed amount of $100,000, still within the Administrator's delegated authority.
* Amendment 2 increasing the not to exceed amount by $150,000 for a new total not to exceed amount of $250,000, with no change to other contract terms was approved via Resolution 23-0226.
* Amendment 3 increasing the not to exceed amount by $250,000 for a new total not to exceed amount of $500,000, with no change to other contract terms was approved via Resolution 23-0402.
