BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Administrator be authorized to negotiate Agreement PW 55-33-26 with the City of Loretto for cost participation, ownership, and maintenance responsibilities relating to the installation of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 19 (Medina Street) at Elsen Street and Railway Street (Capital Project 2201128, a subproject of 2201100: Cost Participation and Partnerships 2024 – 2028), at an estimated receivable of $15,000; that upon review and approval by the County Attorney’s Office, the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the agreement on behalf of the County; and that the Controller be authorized to accept the funds as directed.

Background:
Hennepin County, in collaboration with the City of Loretto, is leading a project to improve pedestrian safety and increase driver awareness along CSAH 19 (Medina Street). The project will install pedestrian crossing beacons at two locations (Elsen Street and Railway Street), which will be owned and maintained by Hennepin County.
Funding for the county’s cost participation is available in CP 2201100: Cost Participation and Partnerships 2024 – 2028, with expenses tracked in its associated subproject 2201128.
