BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Administrator be authorized to negotiate Agreement PR00008578 with CBS Squared, Inc. to provide preliminary and final design, engineering, and professional services for a pavement rehabilitation project on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 60 (Baker Road) between Interstate (I)-494 and CSAH 5 (Minnetonka Boulevard) in the city of Minnetonka, county project (CP) 2220903, in an amount not to exceed $664,000; that upon review and approval by the County Attorney’s Office, the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the agreement on behalf of the county; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse funds as directed.

Background:

Hennepin County, in partnership with the City of Minnetonka and Three Rivers Park District, is leading a pavement rehabilitation project on CSAH 60 (Baker Road) between I-494 and CSAH 5 (Minnetonka Boulevard). County staff are coordinating pavement rehabilitation activities with the Bryant Lake Regional Trail project that extends along Baker Road. The project is expected to begin construction in 2027 and includes the following:

 

                     Pavement rehabilitation and drainage improvements

                     Signal replacement

                     Accessibility and safety enhancements

 

CBS Squared, Inc. was selected through a qualification-based selection process and is committed to meeting the small and minority business enterprise project goal of 14% and utilizing 50% of the project for emerging small business enterprise participation.

 

Current Request: This request seeks authorization to negotiate Agreement PR00008578 with CBS Squared, Inc. for preliminary and final design, engineering, and professional services for the CSAH 60 (Baker Road) rehabilitation project, CP 2220903, in an amount not to exceed $664,000.

 

Impacts/Outcomes: This project supports the county’s Toward Zero Deaths Action Plan, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan, Climate Action Plan, and disparity elimination efforts by improving safety, accessibility, and mobility for all people using the corridor.

 

This request funds services that are: both mandated and core services
