BE IT RESOLVED, that a contract be awarded to Concrete Idea, Inc. for $826,582.00 to construct accessible pedestrian ramps at various locations within the county, county project (CP) 2201023 - 2026 ADA Pedestrian Ramp Retrofits Phase 1, a subproject of capital project 2201000; that the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the contract on behalf of the county; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse the funds as directed.

Background:
The county is improving accessibility at several locations in conjunction with pavement preservation work. Pedestrian ramps will be upgraded to current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards along the following County State Aid Highways (CSAHs) and County Roadways (CRs):
• CSAH 4 (Eden Prairie Road) between Terrey Pine Drive and Westgate Drive in the city of Eden Prairie
• CSAH 4 (Eden Prairie Road) between CSAH 62 (West 62nd Street/Townline Road) and CSAH 3 (Excelsior Boulevard) in the city of Minnetonka
• CSAH 61 (Xenium Lane) between Southridge Road and Trunk Highway 55 in the cities of Minnetonka and Plymouth
• CSAH 66 (Duluth Street) between Brunswick Avenue and Regent Avenue in the city of Golden Valley
• CR 116 (Pinto Drive) between Aster Road and CSAH 10 in the cities of Medina and Corcoran
• CSAH 156 (Winnetka Avenue) between CSAH 9 (42nd Avenue) and CSAH 10 (Bass Lake Road) in the city of New Hope
• CSAH 159 (Territorial Road) at Laurel Creek Parkway in the city of Rogers
The work will be completed by Concrete Idea, Inc., which was the lowest responsive bid. Project funding is available in capital project 2201000 - Safety and Asset Management, with expenses tracked in subproject 2201023 - 2026 ADA Pedestrian Ramp Retrofits Phase 1. Construction will begin in 2026 with substantial completion in 2027.
