BE IT RESOLVED, that the award of Contract FC00000148 to Northland Mechanical Contractors, Inc. for the BPTS Air Quality & Energy Improvement (Subproject Project 1011008, Parent Project 1006392), in the amount of $1,816,000 be approved; that the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the contract on behalf of the county after the performance and payment bonds have been properly executed; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse funds as directed.

Background:
Brooklyn Park Transfer Station is a 94,000 square foot waste management facility on a 10-acre site located at 8100 Jefferson Hwy in Brooklyn Park. The transfer station processes waste for over 75,000 residents.
This project will improve workplace safety and energy efficiency. Specifically, the project will:
• Modify the ventilation system ductwork, exhaust fans, supply units, etc. serving the waste transfer tipping, pit, and recycling areas to create a central high bay exhaust plume for improved dust control and energy conservation.
• Update the building automation system graphics to meet new ventilation strategy and to provide improved real time exhaust fan status reporting and historical trending.
Through the low bid procurement process, a request for bids was released on April 9, 2024. Two (2) bids were received on May 7, 2024. Northland Mechanical Contractors was the low bid and is recommended to be awarded the contract for the project in the amount of $1,816,000.
