BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Administrator be authorized to execute Amendment 1 to work order contract PR00007146 with Kimley Horn and Associates, Inc. to provide preliminary and final design, engineering, and professional services for an intersection safety improvement project at the intersection of County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 19 and county roads 203 and 117 in the cities of Corcoran and Hanover, county project (CP) 2191400, increasing the contract by $64,000 for a revised not to exceed total amount of $531,638.16; that upon review and approval by the County Attorney’s Office, the Program Manager for the Professional Technical Services Roster be authorized to sign the work order contract amendment on behalf of the county; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse funds as directed.

Background:
Hennepin County, in partnership with the cities of Corcoran and Hanover, is leading a multimodal safety improvement project at the intersection of CSAH 19 and county roads 203 and 117, which is identified on the county’s Toward Zero Deaths Action Plan - High Injury Network. The project, scheduled for construction in 2027, will include the following:
• Roundabout
• Accessibility, multimodal and safety enhancements
• Street lighting and drainage improvements
Kimley Horn and Associates, Inc. is currently under contract with the county to provide design, engineering, and professional services for improvements at the CSAH 19 intersection with county roads 203 and 117, county project (CP) 2191400. Additional services are needed to complete the project.
Current Request: This request seeks authorization to execute Amendment 1 to work order contract PR00007146 with Kimley Horn and Associates, Inc. for preliminary and final design, engineering, and professional services, increasing the contract amount to $531,638.16.
Impacts/Outcomes: This project supports the county’s Toward Zero Deaths Action Plan, Americans with Disabilities Act Transition Plan, climate action and disparity elimination efforts by improving accessibility, mobility, and safety for multimodal transportation users at the intersection of CSAH 19 and county roads 203 and 117.
