Background:
The county, in collaboration with the City of Minneapolis, is leading a project to reconstruct CSAH 152 (Cedar Avenue) from CSAH 3 (Lake Street) to CSAH 42 (42nd Street). The corridor is identified on the county’s Toward Zero Deaths Action Plan Highway Injury Network. The project will modernize the roadway with a complete and green streets design, including:
New pavement, sidewalk, curb/gutter, and traffic signals
Accessibility, safety, and multi-modal enhancements
Stormwater upgrades

In 2025, the county entered into Contract PR00007170 with SRF Consulting Group, Inc. for preliminary design, engineering, and public engagement at a county cost of $1,450,000 (Resolution 25-0166).

The county will continue to engage with the community and build on previous planning and engagement efforts to develop a concept that best meets the project goals and community needs. The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2029.
